1. COVERAGE OF THIS POLICY

This policy covers every Inspire Christian Media Ministries Inc. entity, including but not limited to the three existing Inspire.FM Christian Radio Stations, called “Inspire.FM” throughout this document.

  1. Purpose

This policy outlines the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within Inspire.FM.

As an organisation committed to spreading the Gospel and serving the larger Christian community, we recognise the potential of AI to enhance our outreach, efficiency, and impact.

However, we are also aware of the ethical implications and potential risks associated with AI technologies. This policy is designed to ensure that our use of AI aligns with our mission, values, and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

  1. Guiding Principles.
  • Biblical Alignment: All AI technologies and applications used by Inspire.FM must align with biblical principles and Christian ethics. We will ensure that AI is utilised in ways that honour God, promote truth and uphold the dignity and value of all human beings.

  • Transparency: We are committed to transparency in our use of AI. This includes clear communication with our audience about how AI is used in our operations, content creation, and decision-making processes.

  • Human Oversight: AI will be used to assist, not replace, human decision-making. Human oversight is required for all AI-driven processes, especially those that impact our messaging, content distribution, and interactions with our audience.

  • Respect for Privacy: The privacy and confidentiality of our audience, partners, and staff are of utmost importance. We will ensure that AI technologies are used in compliance with data protection regulations and that personal data is handled with the highest standards of care and integrity.

  • Content Creation: AI may be used to assist in the research involved in the creation of content (including but not limited to Bible teaching messages, devotionals, articles, social media posts and audience and donor communications) but not to generate the content itself. All content produced by Inspire.FM must be created by a human being, led by the Holy Spirit.

  • Veracity: All AI-assisted research must be reviewed for truth and veracity and approved by a qualified staff member to ensure theological accuracy and alignment with our mission.

  • Editing:  AI may be used to proofread and edit content created by Inspire.FM, but again, all such outputs must be reviewed and approved by a qualified person.

  • Audience Engagement: AI tools may be employed to enhance engagement with our audience, including chatbots, personalised content recommendations and automated responses. Any such tools will be designed to offer compassionate, Christ-centred interactions.

  • Operational Efficiency: AI may be used to improve operational efficiency in areas such as data analysis, resource allocation, and administrative tasks. Any such applications must be implemented with careful consideration of their impact on our ministry and mission.

  • Human Dignity: AI must be used in ways that respect and uphold the inherent dignity of every individual, as created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). This principle will guide all decisions regarding the deployment and management of AI technologies.

  • Accountability: Inspire.FM will remain accountable for the actions and decisions made by AI systems. We will establish mechanisms for addressing any ethical concerns or unintended consequences that arise from AI use.
