If I were to ask you, “What are you listening to?” you might immediately think about the music on your playlist. Country? Classic rock? Worship music? Christian radio?
That’s certainly one way to answer the question.
But it’s not actually what I mean.
I’m talking about the voices that shape your thinking.
Whether we realize it or not, we’re all listening to someone. News anchors. Politicians. Social media influencers. Podcasters. Friends. Co-workers. Experts. Advertisers. Even the voice inside our own heads. Every day, these voices compete for our attention, our trust, and ultimately our hearts.
Jesus understood this when He said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)
The voices we listen to influence far more than our opinions. They shape our attitudes, our priorities, our relationships, and our view of the future. They can cultivate fear or faith, anxiety or peace, cynicism or hope.
That’s why it’s worth asking ourselves from time to time: Whose voice is having the greatest influence on my life?
As followers of Jesus, we need to be intentional about making room for His voice above all the others. Through His Word. Through prayer. Through the encouragement of other believers. Through worship. Through biblical teaching that continually points us back to truth.
Here at Inspire.FM, that’s our prayer every single day. In a world filled with competing voices, we want to be one voice that consistently points you to the One voice that matters most—the voice of our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
So today, before you ask yourself what you’re listening to… perhaps the better question is, who are you listening to?

Awesome, great word bother!
